Jacqueline Hobbs, MD, PhD, DFAPA is now a licensed State of Florida, Health Care Risk Manager. Licensees are require to take a 120 hour course, designed for healthcare professionals (physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapist) and health care administrators.  The course is designed to prepare working professionals in healthcare, law or insurance services to either enter the field of healthcare risk management and patient safety directly; or further expand their professional knowledge of healthcare management. Upon successful course completion, students receive a professional certificate in Healthcare Risk Management​ and are eligible for state licensure.

Dr. Hobbs completed the University of Florida 120- hour online Healthcare Risk Management course.  She acquired this training as part of her Faculty Enhancement Opportunity (FEO) award. Her goal was to learn more about quality and patient safety to further enhance her role as Physician Director of Quality (PDQ) for the Department of Psychiatry. Also as part of her grant, she will attend the 2017 American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) Annual Conference in October in Seattle, Washington.
