On Tuesday, October 24th, Dr. Rajiv Tandon moderated a panel of local leaders who discussed the growing epidemic of youth suicide. Panelists included representatives from Alachua County Schools, University of Florida, Santa Fe College, and Alachua County Crisis Center.
In addition to providing insight to the epidemic, panelists reviewed resources offered in the community. The event took place at the United Church of Gainesville and was sponsored by NAMI Gainesville. NAMI is the largest grass roots organization that provides support, advocacy and education to family members and individuals with a mental illness.
