On April 9th UF child psychiatry faculty member Michael Shapiro, MD and child and adolescent fellows Avjola Hoxha, MD and Hina Smith, MD traveled to Washington D.C. to advocate for children’s mental health as part of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry’s (AACAP) Legislative Conference. The AACAP’s Government Affairs team helps members schedule meetings with legislators on Capital Hill to discuss children’s mental health.
