Dr. Suryadevara to serve on Governor’s Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) Initiative

UF Psychiatry Assistant Professor, Uma Suryadevara, MD has been asked to serve on the new priority area 9 – Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias – in the Florida State Health Improvement Plan.

Dr. Suryadevara will participate in the ADRD priority area by serving on the ADRD2.1 subcommittee. This subcommittee is focused on engaging with the hospitals and universities that house the state’s Memory Disorder Clinics (MDC) so that they each answer Governor DeSantis’ challenge to provide matching funding annually to the clinics to allow for an increase in the number of individuals they serve with evaluation and diagnostic testing for dementia. This subcommittee is a part of Goal ADRD2, which is to strengthen the capacity of care organizations to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with ADRD and expand support for their caregivers.
