NEW  FACULTY 

Matthew Daley, PhD

Start date 9/1/17 – Adult Medical Psychology,  Assistant Professor

Dr. Daley is a recent graduate of the Medical Psychology Program here at UF where he trained under Drs. Gary Geffken and Joseph McNamara. During this time, he conducted individual, family, and group therapy sessions. He also provided comprehensive psychological evaluations and provided individualized treatment to patients in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. During his postdoctoral fellowship, he also provided supervision and mentoring to MS and PhD students.

Dr. Daley will join the Division of Medical Psychology as an Assistant Professor.

Jason Hunt, MD

Start date 9/1/17 – Addiction Medicine, Assistant Professor

Dr. Hunt will join the faculty as an Assistant Professor. He has recently completed the ABAM Addiction Medicine Fellowship here at UF, he has experience as an alcohol and drug counselor, and has served on the Board of Directors of the Alabama Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association. Dr. Hunt will join the faculty at the Florida Recovery Center providing evaluations and treatment to our patients.

Marcia Morris, MD

Start date 9/5/17 – Student Mental Health, Associate Professor and Assistant Program Director

Dr. Morris will join the Department of Psychiatry as an Associate Professor and serve as the Associate Director of Student Mental Health where she has been treating patients for the last twenty years. Her areas of specialty include depression, anxiety, and eating disorders. Dr. Morris has presented at several collegiate health conferences over the years and has published research papers and articles on OCD and other various topics.

Sang-wahn Koo, MD

Start date 9/15/17 - Vero Beach – Assistant Professor and Chief of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Dr. Koo graduated from Yonsei University School of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea. He then came to the US where he completed his general psychiatry residency at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman, Oklahoma and child and adolescent psychiatric fellowship at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Koo’s clinical interests are in ADHD, Autism, mood disorders, and psychotic disorders. He will join our faculty at the Center for Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine in Vero Beach as an Assistant Professor and Chief of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.

Kristin Moffett, PhD

Start date 9/25/17 – Addiction Medicine, Assistant Professor

Dr. Moffett recently completed her Neuropsychology Fellowship with the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Emory University. Prior to her fellowship, she earned both her MS and PhD here at UF in Clinical Psychology. During her training, she provided neuropsychological assessments to patients, supervised graduate level trainees and provided cogitative rehabilitation therapy.

Dr. Moffett will join the faculty as an Assistant Professor at the Florida Recovery Center where she will provide neuropsychological evaluations and treatment.

"I'm Listening: In Tune with Mental Health"

This event is to promote the health, recovery, and well-being of those affected by mental illnesses and substance use disorders through prevention, coordinated treatment, and supportive services.

On Sunday evening, September 10th, World Suicide Prevention Day, Entercom ( WKTK and WSKY in Gainesville) will host a 2-hour LIVE panel discussion broadcast to ALL Entercom platforms nationwide. Together with musicians and celebrities connected to the cause, we will host a discussion focused on personal stories and offer resources to our national audience.

MINDFULNESS  RELAXATION  MINUTES

Mindfulness turns two!

 

Carol Lewis, PhD, MPH, CPN will be our Mindfulness Facilitator for September

Carol Lewis, PhD, MPH,CPN is a clinical psychologist who has training in 3 mindfulness-based programs – Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).  Dr. Lewis uses mindfulness strategies extensively in her clinical work.  As a public health practitioner, Dr. Lewis is working on developing low-intensity, easily accessible mindfulness-based treatment strategies.  She is also a regular meditator and yoga practitioner, who meditates with a Thich Nhat Hanh –based meditation group, and retreats yearly.
