Teen Depression/Bullying Resource Forum

On Tuesday May 16th at the Alachua County Library Headquarters, concerned parent, Virginia Lynn coordinated a panel of community mental health experts and resources to discuss teen depression, suicide, and bullying. Drs. Michael Shapiro, Joseph McNamara, and Carol Lewis participated as resources to the community.

UF Psychiatry PCIT Team holds reception to honor Dr. Eyberg

The UF Psychiatry Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) Team had a reception to honor Sheila Eyberg, PhD, ABPN and UF Distinguished Professor Emeritus, who is the creator and developer of PCIT. PCIT uses direct coaching of the parent to positively influence the parent’s interactions with his or her child, and, as a result, positively influence the child’s behaviors.

CHS partners with UF Health to provide telemedicine psychiatry services

Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) is unveiling a statewide partnership with University of Florida Health (UF Health) that uses telehealth technology to pair CHS’ counselors with licensed psychiatrists to improve access to care.

Dr. Bruijnzeel earns EDS Certificate

Dr. Adriaan Bruijnzeel earned the Educational Development Series Certificate. The Educational Development Certificate Series is for faculty who are interested in improving their understanding of teaching and learning and in acquiring advanced skills for active and interactive teaching and learning.
